For over 150 years, the Bureau International de l’Édition Française (BIEF) has worked to extend the reach of French publishing and promote international networking. Today, it becomes France Livre – The French Publishing Network. 



More than a name change, France Livre signals a renewed ambition: to strengthen editorial partnerships, foster global collaboration, and provide French publishers with the tools to grow their international presence. 



A Visual Identity that Embodies Connection 


This new chapter comes with a refreshed graphic identity. The France Livre logo, created by Line Celo, is a dynamic symbol of network, flow, and interconnection—a visual metaphor for its mission: circulating ideas, building bridges, and linking professionals across borders. It reflects a publishing ecosystem in constant motion, grounded in shared values and open to the world. 



A Unified Network 


France Livre unites nearly 350 publishing houses—from major groups to independent and specialized presses. It offers international professionals a clear, structured entry point into the French publishing landscape, facilitating direct access to catalogues, rights opportunities, and trusted partners. Created by and for publishers, France Livre fosters long-term collaboration in a professional and agile framework. It empowers members to expand their visibility, identify new prospects, and structure their export strategies to seize emerging opportunities.

Supported by Public Institutions 


France Livre’s roadmap is co-built with publishers and relies on close partnerships with key operators, including the Centre national du livre (CNL) and the Institut français. It also benefits from the support of public institutions such as the French Ministry of Culture, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, La SOFIA, and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie. This institutional support ensures continuity, credibility, and commitment—reinforcing France Livre’s legitimacy as a trusted international actor.
